Magnetically Shielded Room

Our Lodestar Magnetics Inc. shielded room was installed in Summer of 2013. This room will eventually house both the Scanning Magnetic Microscope and an AF demagnetiser with ARM attachment (expected early 2014). The shield comprises two layers of transformer steel and a third layer of mu-metal to reduce time-varying fields. Static fields inside the shield are typically < 200 nT.
